How to solve the problem of charging noise from electric vehicle chargers

The problem of charging noise from electric vehicle chargers can be addressed from the following aspects:

Heat dissipation-related issues and solutions

Lack of oil in the fan bearing: When the charger is working, a lack of oil in the cooling fan bearing will cause the fan to rotate and generate friction, thereby producing noise. At this point, the bearing of the cooling fan can be found, and an appropriate amount of lubricating oil can be added to ensure the smooth operation of the fan and thereby reduce noise.

Charging in high-temperature environments: When electric vehicles are being charged, a large amount of heat is generated, and the fan will start to operate to ensure heat dissipation. If a car is parked in a high-temperature environment for charging, the fan will rotate faster and the noise will increase accordingly. The solution is to park the car in a shady place as much as possible when charging, reduce the fan speed and decrease the noise.

Poor-quality fans: Fans of poor quality make a lot of noise when in operation. It is advisable to consider replacing it with a high-quality fan to reduce noise.

Dust accumulation: After long-term use, dust will accumulate on the fan, resulting in increased noise. You can add some lubricating oil to the fan rollers and regularly clean the dust in the charging system to prevent the accumulation of dust from affecting heat dissipation, which would cause the fan speed to increase and thus increase noise.

Internal Component issues of the charger and their solutions

When the internal components of the charger fall off, the charging parameters will change, the charging voltage will be uneven, causing the charger to heat up, the cooling fan to rotate abnormally, and generating noise. At this point, you should go to a repair shop to check and repair the charger to ensure that the internal components are working properly.

Current-voltage conversion problems and solutions

When the component that converts current and voltage gets hot, it will trigger the cooling fan of the electronic control system, causing a humming sound. This is a normal phenomenon and there is no need to worry too much.

Battery-related issues and solutions

The failure of the pre-filter capacitor: The failure of the pre-filter capacitor will cause the ripple to increase, the charging current to decrease, and may generate noise. This situation requires professional maintenance personnel to inspect and repair the charger.

Different battery voltages: Electric vehicle batteries are composed of multiple batteries connected in series. If the voltage of one battery is different from that of the others, it may cause the charging current to decrease, thereby generating noise. At this point, you can go to a professional repair shop to check the battery voltage. If necessary, carry out battery maintenance or replacement.
